Quick Start

How to use Texpandr and add new text expansions.

   First Start

   • Open Texpandr.exe
   • Leave User mode selected unless you can run as Administrator — then use Admin
   • On first launch, phrases.json is created next to the exe

   Add New Expansions

   • Click Add
   • Enter the abbreviation
   • Enter the full phrase
   • Abbreviation stays single-line
   • Phrase can be multiline

   Use It While Typing

   • Type the abbreviation
   • Press Space
   • The full phrase is inserted automatically
   • Expansions are case-sensitive
   • Use Pause or Resume when needed

   Best Practice

   Put a dot at the front of each abbreviation.

   Use shortcuts like .sig, .addr, and .ty. This helps avoid accidental triggers and makes shortcuts easier to spot.
